Quake III dont run in 1680*1050?!

Hi!
I just got my new tft with a res of 1680*1050 pixels. before i buyed it i asked here if widescreen is possible, but it isnt (?).
I cnt make Quake III run in 1680*1050. I cant set iut in game and if i make it in the config it doesnt work.
seta r_customheight "1050"
seta r_customwidth "1680"
and its still 800*600. and the one resolution of widescreen in uake (800*500 or somethink, dont know exactly) is bugged and doesnt work.

that looks more like you need to do r_fullscreen 1 -
even lowest res should fill the screen - and its r_mode 7 you should have as well as the res settings. (thats what i use on 1680x1050)
seta r_customheight "1050"
seta r_customwidth "1680"
seta r_mode "7"
seta r_fullscreen "1"
oh and yeah, buy the samsung... it owns big time, i got samsung syncmaster 2232bw it is very nice, response time and contrast are outstanding, plus it comes bundled with some nice tweaking software.
the only problem i find with it is angle of view, while better than most tv's ive seen, it loses picture at around 30 degrees, this doesnt affect use as pc monitor, but does when used as dvd playback and not sitting direct in front of screen

right r_mode value is -1 with combination of r_customheight and r_customwidth

if it is widescreen use the correct r_customaspect
defaults to 4:3

yeah sorry my mistake, 7 is 1600 x 1200
but i still think the solution to the initial problem is to set to full screen as opposed to window..

i saw that problem on another pc. Asus m2n, gf8600gt and 19" wide LG display. I couldnt force fullscreen. But it wasnt my comp so i didnt solved it :-k
